The King’s University (TKU) proudly announces the appointment of Pastor Doug Andersen as the new Chairman of the university’s Board of Trustees. Pastor Andersen’s extensive leadership experience and his deep connection to TKU’s founding family make him an exemplary choice to lead our institution forward.

Pastor Doug Andersen, along with his wife Christa, has been deeply involved with The Church On The Way (TCOTW) in Van Nuys, California, for many years. Christa attended TCOTW from a young age, and Pastor Andersen joined the congregation after high school. Their journey together has been marked by significant milestones: they met, married, began their pastoral ministry, and raised their three children within TCOTW community. Pastor Andersen served on the staff for over 20 years, culminating his tenure as Executive Pastor. In 2007, the Andersens planted a daughter church in Santa Clarita Valley, leading the vibrant congregation for 15 years before returning to TCOTW in 2022. For the past decade, Pastor Andersen has also served on the Board of Directors of their denomination. The Andersens are enthusiastic about their new role and look forward to continuing their legacy of service and leadership.

Pastor Andersen’s appointment as Chairman of the Board is particularly meaningful given his father-in-law, Dr. Jack Hayford’s, legacy. In 1997, Dr. Jack Hayford, kindly known as Pastor Jack, founded The King’s University with a vision to advance the Kingdom of God through theological education, spiritual formation, and vocational preparation. Pastor Jack was a renowned leader known for his prophetic and practical teaching that transformed lives globally. As the founding pastor of The Church On The Way in Van Nuys, California, his ministry bridged generational, socio-economic, and ethnic divides, fostering reconciliation and spiritual growth. His passion for integrating academic scholarship with charismatic-Pentecostal beliefs set a new standard in theological education, making TKU a center for academic training and spiritual transformation.

TKU President, Dr. Irini Fambro, expressed her enthusiasm for Pastor Andersen’s appointment,

“I am excited to welcome Pastor Doug Andersen in this leadership role as Chairman of our Board of Trustees. Pastor Andersen has supported The King’s University as a member of the Board of Trustees, as well as believing in the university to have two of his children graduate from TKU. We look forward to what God is doing in this new season at The King’s University.”

As Pastor Andersen steps into this pivotal role at TKU, he carries forward the vision and mission established by Pastor Jack. Pastor Andersen’s leadership, grounded in a deep commitment to faith and community, promises to guide TKU into a future of continued growth and impact. The King’s University community is excited to welcome Pastor Doug Andersen as the new Chairman of the Board of Trustees and looks forward to the perspective and dedication he brings to this position.

Please join us in welcoming Pastor Doug Andersen to his new role and celebrating this exciting new chapter for The King’s University.
