Graduating high school Jono Jacob had multiple university scholarships on the table. His plan was to pursue an engineering degree and to eventually use that as an open door to missions and ministry, but God redirected his steps.
At the nudging of his parents, Jono checked out a TKU Campus Day and quickly found himself drawn to the Spirit-empowered culture and community of the University.
Jono explained, “I had no intention of coming to TKU, but God told me that my plan with engineering was good, but it just wasn’t the plan He had for me.”
Now a full-time student at The King’s University, Jono is pursuing a degree in Biblical and Theological Studies. He feels called to evangelize and equip the next generation in the creative arts and worship studies. While he’s actively involved in worship on and off campus, he chose this degree over the worship program simply because he felt it would lay a foundation for not only worship, but also the pastoral call on his life.
Jono says the disciplines he’s learning in the classroom are already practically applicable to areas he’s serving in. He currently leads a small group of young guys and interns as a student leader in his church.
Jono can usually be found hanging out in the cafe with a handful of friends. He’s involved in multiple clubs and intramurals and he believes the community at TKU has been the most impactful element of his collegiate experience. Jono is building lifelong relationships for the journey ahead.
