Patricia Morris was born in New York, but grew up primarily in Brazil. After moving back to the states years later, she got saved while attending a retreat at a Brazilian church in the Dallas area. She had no idea what God had in store for her life, including pursuing a seminary education.
After getting saved, God quickly birthed a ministry in her heart called “Birthday Blessing” – a ministry that helps celebrate the uncelebrated by providing birthday parties to underprivileged children. God opened the doors to launch Birthday Blessing in Brazil with the same pastoral couple that had led her to Christ in Dallas a year earlier. It was while visiting them in Brazil that the pastor asked her to consider a seminary education.
“I thought he was crazy!” she says reflectively. “I remember thinking that seminary school was only for pastors and I didn’t have any intention of becoming a pastor.” But she told him she’d pray about it and, as God began working in her heart, the desire and excitement came too.
Through a series of events, God began directing Patricia to TKU. With its fully accredited degree programs and ideal location in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, where her husband was in school pursuing his MBA, she felt the peace to start attending as soon as possible.
“I love that The King’s is a Spirit-filled school that teaches biblical truth and that the professors have practical ministry experience. I believe God wants me to gain a better understanding of the Bible and be equipped to minister to the people He puts in my path. That’s why He lead me to the Kings.”
