Charlotte Barnes reconnected to God’s big picture for her life when she audited two classes at The King’s University.
“I have been a stay-at-home mom for 22 years,” she said. “I am also an artist and I taught first through tenth grade art classes at a private school in Haslet, TX.
The Fort Worth resident audited the classes — one with Dr. Reid and another with Dr. Dorries — to determine if she should attend TKU or pursue her studies in art.
“The Lord used both (classes) to speak life into my forgotten dreams — dreams He had given me in my teen years that quite honestly I thought I had missed the chance to fulfill.”
This was confirmation for Charlotte to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Counseling at TKU.
Now she has a passion to help others clear away distractions and focus in on the big picture God has for their lives.
“I believe that we don’t live up to the potential that God has placed in us due to the junk we have taken on in our lifetimes,” she explained. “By helping (people to) root out the lies, they can begin to soar.”
Charlotte has some advice for anyone who might be wondering if TKU is the school for them: “If you are looking for a place to grow in preparation for the call you feel that the Lord has on your life, then know that the Spirit of God is on this place. Listen to the Spirit of God, He will be faithful to guide you. Don’t settle for one thing less than what He has for you.”
